Louis De Villiers
I have driven a large number of diverse projects simultaneously over many years across the supply chains of numerous companies and industries, having several years of experience in Property (Facilities) Management, Electrical Engineering, SAP Security & Risk Management and IT Project/Program Management. This includes a vast experience in international leadership, program management, business planning, operational design, asset management, design architecture, information management and risk and security management.

Show profile Hide profileBorn and brought up in Zimbabwe, I completed my scholastic education at Gifford High in Bulawayo. I then went on to complete my Electrical Apprenticeship, where he experienced a vast variety of experience in the electrical industry ranging from electronics to High Voltage. I gained considerable experience in the electrical trade by being an independent contractor and was successful in this particular profession.
To satisfy my inquiring mind, I soon moved into a profession of which was a dream that I needed to accomplish and joined the Bulawayo Technical College where I lectured in Auto Electrical, Electronics, Motor Mechanics and Tool Making and Engineering, Practical and Theory.
I immigrated to South Africa in the late 1980' where I continued in the electrical trade for a few years as a maintenance electrician and even spent a period of time back in the auto electrical industry working at Sandock Austral.
After being offered a position within Eskom, I joined the Transmission Groups Substation Technology Design division as a Draughtsman, where I gained certification as a qualified Draughtsman. Having proved my abilities within the division, I was then promoted to a Project Manager within the same division, where I was involved in numerous multi million Rand Substation Refurbishment projects.
In 1997, I left the Electrical profession to pursue a career in IT and the SAP industry being a key member of the Eskom Finesse Project and assisting in the roll-out of their SAP implementation. In 2000, I went back to the Transmission Division where I held the position of SAP System Administrator and was instrumental in purifying the data within the division and was nominated for the Executive Employee of the year in 2001.
After reaching the ceiling in Eskom, I moved on to "Greener Pastures" and entered the corporate world of consulting as a SAP Consultant, being involved with major SAP implementations with prominent companies and institutions such as, DiData, Alcatel, University of Cape Town, Scaw Metals, De Beers, to name a few.
In Mid 2004, I Moved back into the corporate environment as the Manager of Standard Banks, SAP Knowledge Centre's "Logical Access Control" Team who was instrumental in purifying their Security to be awarded their first "clean" Audit since Implementation.
In 2006 was "Head Hunted" and went independent as the Project Director for the Department of Labour's "ESSA" Project. I have since (as an independent consultant, managed projects as far as Botswana (Motor Vehicle Accident Fund) and Nigeria (Federal Inland Revenue Service and Obajana Cement PLC). Louis has also managed several Projects for Intersite Property Management Services (Now integrated into PRASA) and Also Managed an International Information Security Upgrade for BHP Billiton and was instrumental in the Rennies Travel/South African Airways/British Airways and Khulua/M.A.T.C.H. Ticketing system implemented for the 2010 Soccer World Cup
