Show profile Hide profileMatriculated at Afrikaans Hoër Seunskool in Pretoria.
Studied HED at Tuks, did two years compulsary military service and then taught Northern Sotho at Verwoerdburg Highschool.
From 1984 to 1990 I was an announcer/producer at "Radio Suid-Afrika" - mainly responsible for the national teenage programme ATELJEE '86-90'. I became senior producer for TV1 Light Music and Variety, and later for Educational Programmes.
After 12 years at the SABC I left the publice broadcaster to established RIPPEL 90.5 FM STEREO - a local radio station for the Greater Pretoria, Centurion and surroundings. This was quite a venture. The radio station only received its permanent broadcast license after 16 years!! It must be a world record!
In 2013 Radio Rippel appointed a new management team and I took a voluntary package. Currently I continue doing sound recordings, voice overs, productions of radio programmes, script writing and the recording of radio ads for radio stations, ad agencies etc. I am also presenting two outdoor programmes : One about camping, 4 x 4, tourism, issues, destinations, routes and the complete outdoor life. The other programme is an enjoyable campfire programme.- with storytellers, hunters and fishermen and lies and "truths". The guests all "authorities" in their fields.
