Radio showsSpecial sectionsRelated sectorsIn the news | Media in brief New ABC term for community pressThe term 'Community Press' has been replaced by 'Local Media', according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations of South Africa. In terms of a joint decision taken by Print Media SA and the Media Development and Diversity Agency, the industry now recognizes the definitions indicated in the MDDA Act of 2002. Community Media - means any media project that is owned and controlled by a community where any financial surplus generated is reinvested in the media project; and "community" means a geographically founded community or any group of persons or sector of the public having a specific ascertainable common interest. All previously titled Community Press Newspaper Certificates and reports will from now be termed Local Newspaper.
