I want MY Metro Fm back!!

I have had it with Thomas and the loud crew. I want them out!! They have nothing to say... and that regina character.. EXPLAIN!!!??? Isn't a breakfast slot suppose to be inspiring?? Instead you get these days you get people calling about their cheating boyfriends... I DON'T GIVE A FUNK, CALL A FRIEND!! And BBK, my gosh!! How long does it take to read a sports bulletin?? And his voice is not for radio. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!! And Lupi???? What is the idea here?? Hoo bathong!! How and more importantly WHY the hell did that bunch land up on the breakfast slot? Why why why??? Is it because they a celebrities?? I demand someone better qualified for the job. Thomas and co. are just not working out. I find myself having to listen to my CDs EVERY MORNING!! But I refuse to make way for this bullshit!! I have been listening to Radio Metro then Metro Fm... now I have been a radio refugee!! No way!! I want my radio back!!

Oh my word! I can relate to that. I also stopped listening to Metro, because of Thomas and his crew. Guess what i'm listening to? Im listening to Jozi FM (breakfast show)it iz much better than metro FM'S breakfast show. I cant even stand the newreader, Flo (she cant read properly and she's forever talking about the varsity she attended "RAU" who cares. And as for Lupi or whatever he's called he must be fired, coz really what is he producing? The breakfast show is suppose to be informative and educational, but you listen to Thomas and he talks about celebrities. Dude we have enough tabloids and this is not Yfm (Youth station), metro has a broad market. So plz Thomas and Co UP pull up ur socks coz you really suck. Posted on 22 Jan 2008 11:42

They talk too much never play enough music. If they like a song they play it everyday for the rest of the week... and what is with this group presenting thing any way???

Regina must die...

I love Thomas-
But I don't think the relationship he has with Lupi, Flo and BBk is working for the breakfast show. There's definitely something missing ... I'm not exactly sure what.

I think Lupi is the only one who normally saves the situation or Thomas for that matter. I listened to Thomas yesterday f/mumbling about the Home Affairs presentation to the Parliament committe and Lupi just kept quiet and I was like :yeah well done Lupi, stop saving him, he is an empty tin. Lupi only commented afterwards and he was actually correcting him. He does not prepare for his show or think before opening his mouth. As for Unathi; the girl is overrated...whenever I listen to her I just get tired..she lacks energy. she must read the news and shut up.No comment about Mel. Posted on 31 Jan 2008 13:40

You are right, but don't swear. maybe they'll listen and put someone like Bambo there or Segale to add color to the morning! Thomas,Lupi and The naked DJ sound very gay and BBK is too Zulufied. It does not work, it is worse than the former Pat Cash and Ed Jordan's show. Think about it who makes sense inthe morning except John Robbie and Mansfield? That would be the day when Metro makes history for having the worst breakfast show in the world.
A breakfast show needs life, energy and excitement. I wish Dj Fresh hadn't signed a five year contract with 5FM.He would have been perfect.
The show at the moment is surving but I know it could do better. I think Thomas wanted to bring the "Family" influences in the moring but it's not working.

DBN station hot on Metro Heals-
I use to be a religious P4 listener in DBN but with the format and name change I started listening to Metro (from March 2006) however since Metro has changed their line up, I see a steady decline in their Rams and a huge increase in Gagassi listenership. With Metro's new line up,the Indians and Coloureds in KZN (not ECR fans)are stuffed. Metro better pull up their socks because there is a huge market in KZN that is waiting to be tapped. These bunch of people know how to spoil one's good morning. They presenting the breakfast show like a late night show. I still fail to understand if they the LSM they're catering for. I just moved to a new place and the frequecy there sucks!! Guess which station it reaches.Yep! Metro. I scream everyday cos I'm a big fan of radio. When I decide to give them a chance Bad Boy and the family just keep on reminding me everytime why I hate Metro. Guys please change that feature called what is ruining your morning( Not sure exactly what it is called). Who wants to hear of such first thing in the mornign I mean,PLEASE. I'm sure I fall under their LSM but their Core Market? Not sure about that. Guys please make some change or the likes of KayaFM will always be on your tail and actually pass you! I am sick of hearing you complain about Thomas or Metro Fm line up, If you dont like what you hear,then switch to another station, you are allowed to do that you know, you claim to hate the breakfast team or Glen's show but you seem to know everything that happens in their shows,that means you like listening to them,subconsciously...If you know what they are about, why bother coming back to listen to them? you just sound bitter and confused.Leave Thomas and family alone ,same goes for Unathi and Glenzito and find other stations to listen to if you are so bothered!!!!!!! Just Ice must comeback.-
MetroFM breakfast hasn't been the same since Just Ice left.Listeners in Gauteng know that there were calls almost everyday on YFM complaining of how boring Bad boy T(Thomas) was a year before he joined MetroFM.Please bring Just Ice back to host the breakfast show.I think it will be easier now since Just Ice will be part of the SABC again from April 2008. Dont you jus miss bid daddy Bino, he actuali made me wake up in the middle of the night! His sundowner mix was tops, and since he left no one lives up to it...

the sad thing is that Segale can't see that he is messing up METRO. and how can you be programmes manager at the same time you are trying to promote your own DJing gigs on air? now Thomas has resigned but anyway he really didn't work out for the morning show, he was just not the right person for that. Penny should not be on radio at all and that durban boy Leko must not speak, he just laughs at his own dumb jokes. pathetic.
on the other hand the BEST morning show I ever experienced was Fresh on Yfm. If only METRO could get him for breakfast show Segale could regain listeners and save his job. otherwise I can't see how the SABC can keep him after March 2010. Posted on 3 Apr 2009 19:54
