United for Africa - 28 Jun 2010
By Simone Puterman (@SimoneBiz)
So Bafana Bafana, Algeria, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire and Nigeria are out, but the Black Stars of Ghana are still carrying the flag for Africa. [Wasn't that an incredible game on Saturday, 26 June 2010, against the US?] And have you noticed the soccer ball that now provides you with the vuvuzela buzz on YouTube videos? Or found the peg man with a vuvuzela in Google Street View? I think our =============<() PWAAAAAARP is here to stay :)
But where is Africa's 2010 FIFA World Cup coverage in the Newseum? Find out more about this online newspaper archive in Herman Manson's
interview with Charles Apple, an American visual journalist and trainer - and ensure that you submit your front pages in pdf format to both the Newseum and Apple.
So, another
Cannes Lions has come and gone. This year's haul for South Africa? Three Gold Lions, Six Silver and 12 Bronze. While congratulations must go to all the winners, and especially Ogilvy Johannesburg for South Africa's
first Film Lion in 11 years, we really should be doing better, considering just how many entries we submitted this year.
On a more positive note, Bizcommunity.com wishes Talk Radio 702 a
happy 30th birthday and many more to come.
Proudly African!
