Craig Greer is to star in the Hollywood feature film, 'Special', cast by award-winning filmmaker, Ann P Meredith. The film will be added to Meredith's many existing projects, which up to now consist mainly of documentaries dealing with controversial women's issues.
Greer will be cast in a supporting role in the feature film, which goes into production shortly.
Move to Hollywood
A stranger to the acting scene, Greer says he originally joined DJ's Model Agency in Johannesburg in 2011 "for a bit of extra spending money." However, within a year, he had already been offered numerous feature roles on various South African television, radio and print commercials.
He moved to Hollywood in March this year, where the Acting Corp's founder, Eugene Buica, coached him. The Acting Corps acting school has trained high-profile actors such as Eminem, Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes, Tobey Maguire and Margaret Cho.
Los Angeles-based talent and literary agency, The Wayne Agency, signed Greer a month after landing in LA. A SAG-AFTRA franchised agency, The Wayne Agency has secured client project opportunities on leading television shows including The Mentalist, Veep and Grey's Anatomy.
Other than his role in Special, Greer has also secured leading roles in short films, some of which are set to appear on US television networks. "I am grateful to have the opportunity to focus on acting as a full-time career. Five years ago, I never would've dreamed my life would take me in this direction, but here I am," he concludes.
