Business tourism expo extends hours

In 2008, business tourism exhibition Meetings Africa will extend its operating hours at the Sandton Convention Centre from two days to two-and-a-half, based upon feedback received from exhibitors at the 2007 expo.
The dates and times are 10am – 5pm on 27 and 28 February, and 9am – 1pm on 29 February 2008.

Explains project manager Glynis Anderson, “Exhibitors gave positive feedback about the exhibition this year, but generally felt two days were just too short and that they needed more time to meet more delegates and potential clients.

“In the end, an exhibition works when both exhibitors and delegates feel that the environment is conducive for conducting business, so we've responded to this request in our quest to grow Meetings Africa and make it work for everyone.”

Anderson says there is already considerable exhibitor interest in Meetings Africa 2008 from African countries such as Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Namibia and Botswana.

Meetings Africa is a public/private partnership between South African Tourism and Thebe Exhibitions & Events. For more information, go to www.meetingsafrica.co.za.
