Breaking news: new Daily Sun editor

The scoop on Grubstreet: ... staff at the Daily Sun were told yesterday, Wednesday, 9 May 2012, their new editor will be Mazwi Xaba, the editor-in-chief of Isolezwe.
This follows an exhaustive search throughout the country by the tabloid's owners, Media24, following the resignation late last year of Themba Khumalo.

Khumalo - better known as 'TK 'to the Sun's millions of readers - stepped down after the death in September 2011 of the paper's founder and publisher, the legendary Deon du Plessis. The paper has been edited by its deputy, Reggy Moalusi, in an acting capacity since Khumalo, who is still involved with the paper, resigned.

Minette Ferreira, Daily Sun GM, told staff the news yesterday and the company released a statement confirming the appointment.
