MTN Radio Awards announces MCs

28 Mar 2014 07:54
The two MCs presenting the MTN Radio Awards at the Sandton Convention Centre on Saturday 12 April 2014 are veteran radio star, 94.7 Highveld Stereo's Alex Jay and rising star from East Coast Radio, Zaba.
Jay was inducted into the MTN Radio Awards Hall of Fame in 2011 and has had a radio and television career spanning more than 25 years. He is well known across the industry and well respected by his peers.

Zaba, who started out her radio career with Durban Youth Radio, then went to VOW FM (Voice of Wits) and then to ECR for the past three years, is a relatively new voice on radio. Her personality attracted the attention of the organisers who believe that she will be an excellent co-presenter with Jay.

"I'm excited to see them light up the stage and entertain the audience at this annual celebration of excellence in our industry," says Lance Rothschild, CEO of the MTN Radio Awards. "I have had the privilege of working closely with Alex in the past and he is an excellent MC and a consummate professional. His rapier sharp wit should lead to some excellent repartee on the night and will provide excellent entertainment. Adding Zaba to the mix will not only provide glamour, but will cast the spotlight on one of the emerging stars of our industry. Whilst she has not had the experience and the exposure that Jay has, she is most certainly someone to watch and I think that she will surprise and delight the audience."
