Picture the Change competition offers R1m in media space

Picture the Change is a collaborative CSI project by RamsayMedia and BoE Private Clients to highlight the causes and concerns that affect all South Africans. The competition invites South Africans to submit images they have taken or found that powerfully reflect change or the need for it.

BoE Private Clients recently spearheaded research into what motivates people to contribute to worthy causes, which has resulted in The Giving Report (www.thegivingreport.co.za).

There are two entry categories - general public and the media (covering the marketing, media and advertising industries). Entries must be uploaded to Facebook, with the winner in each category receiving R300 000 in media space for the worthy cause and a SANParks-sponsored four-night stay in any one of its 21 parks.

    Agency lucky draw

A third winner will emerge from an agency lucky draw. RamsayMedia ad sales executives will call on agencies shortly to promote the project and have photos taken with agency staff. The winner will choose one of the company's CSI projects to benefit from R300 000 in media space and win a SANParks holiday.

An internal competition will allow staff to select one of the company's CSI initiatives to receive a further R100 000 in media exposure, making its total commitment R1 million.

Approximately 100 finalists covering a broad range of causes will be chosen and showcased at a Picture the Change party to be held in June 2012. Judges from the two companies will consider the number of 'Likes' each image received in determining the finalists.
