Zvomuya's winning entry is about small-scale farmers who use traditional seed banks to counter climate change. His entry was among nearly 600 others worldwide.

The CCMP International Green Pen Award will be presented to Zvomuya and the other category winners at the 15th Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Copenhagen, Denmark, in December this year.

The Green Pen Awards recognise stories from journalists who have made a significant contribution in promoting environmental journalism, by covering issues such as climate change.

Each International Green Pen Award winner will receive a trophy and certificate, as well nine months fellowship funding that includes a two-week attendance to the conference in Denmark. The CCMP organising team includes the International Institute for Environment and Development, Internews and Panos London.
