Piper new publisher of RS&P Automotive

Neil Piper is the new publisher of Ramsay, Son & Parker (RS&P) Automotive, the division responsible for the company's motoring titles, RS&P announced yesterday, 25 August 2008. He succeeds Stuart Lowe, who became MD of RS&P at the beginning of July.

Commenting on Piper's appointment, Lowe said: "Neil has an in-depth knowledge of our business and is well-known and respected in the industry. He will be a great leader for the RS&P Automotive team in these challenging times, and beyond."

Piper's appointment comes after his promotion to associate publisher earlier this year and follows a thorough selection process to find the best person to head up the division, which includes the flagship Car and its website www.CARtoday.com, as well as Leisure Wheels, in which RS&P has a 50% shareholding, and Wiel.

He joined the company in 1999 as advertising manager: coastal for Car magazine. In 2002 he moved to sister title Popular Mechanics as national business manager and two years later was promoted to publisher.

He rejoined Car as national business manager in 2006, with Wiel and Leisure Wheels added to his portfolio when these joined the stable.
