Property recruitment portal launches

Following the growth in the property industry and the increasing demand for professional and experienced property practitioners, PropertyJobs recently launched a specialised website focused on providing a complete and easy to use recruitment solution to both property industry recruiters and jobseekers.

www.propertyjobs.co.za aims to source specialist property professionals by drawing on jobseekers via industry specific mediums such as property print publications, property focused websites and property training institutes. This targeted model will appeal to a more industry aware jobseeker.

Kyle Watkins, chief executive of PropertyJobs, says that there is a need for a specialist niche recruitment service provider in the property industry across all segments ranging from real estate, property management, auctioneering, bond origination and other related industry services. Specifically, the real estate industry has been sorely neglected by traditonal recruitment agencies due to the lack of a basic salary on which commission percentages can be applied.

Watkins says, “Our business model removes the traditionally high commission rates from the recruitment process and passes the time and cost savings associated with doing business via the Internet onto the end user, while still giving them the option of being able to do background checks and psychometric testing on short-listed applicants.“

Generalist online recruitment portals have experienced rapid growth recently due to the decreasing cost of broadband Internet and increasing technological literacy of the nation as a whole. This upward trend looks set to continue and global standards show that online recruitment is becoming a vital component of any organisation's recruitment process.

Nielsen/NetRatings recently reported that Internet usage in South Africa had grown at the rate of 50% per year over the last two years and, with this medium becoming more accessible and affordable, penetration is set to continue growing. Specialised industries, however, will still always have a need for specialised staff and this is what PropertyJobs aims to provide in a cost efficient and user friendly way.
