Integrated Communications in finals of Golden World Awards

Integrated Communications, one of South Africa's leading PR and communications companies, has reached the finalist stage in the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World Awards (GWA) for Excellence in PR 2002 competition. As such Integrated will be the only South African company in the finals which will be judged later this month in London.

This year, GWA received 265 entries from 41 different countries as opposed to last year’s awards receiving 191 entries from 25 countries. This represents an increase of almost 50%.

Integrated Communications submitted an entry in the Arts category for the work conducted on the KORA All Africa Music Awards, which took place in November 2001 at Sun City. The company was appointed to handle the public relations and media co-ordination for the awards, creating an increase in interest in the event, and a positive image of the event in the minds of the target markets.

Johanna McDowell, managing director of Integrated Communications, comments, "Awards really do count both for our industry and for our clients. We are thrilled to have reached the finals of this award scheme for the first time ever and hope that we will gain further recognition for South Africa at the finals."

Final judging of the awards will take place on 24 and 25 May 2002, and the results will be announced in early June. The Grand Prize winner will be announced only in September during a Gala event for GWA.
