Radio studio's passion reaps rewards

In only its fourth year of business, First#Left has won its second Grand Prix Radio Lion award at the Cannes Lions festival last week for its 'Mercedes-Benz - Safety Features Love, Bud, Toby' radio campaign.
Radio studio's passion reaps rewards

The radio studio was opened in July 2007, as Net#work BBDO's own in-house recording studio to allow its creative teams to be able to craft their work through its accessibility and unlimited freedom to create. It has just upgraded the studio to make it an even better place for the creative teams to come and play.

Coupled with high-end equipment and the services of two of the best audio engineers in the country, it won South Africa's first Radio Grand Prix under Bob Rolfe, who was the engineer at the time. The second one has David Law, as the engineer and sound designer.

Tanja Rae, executive electronic producer at Net#work BBDO comments, "The studio has exceeded our expectations, run as it is on passion. We have a talented sound engineer and we also have a vested interest in each and every production, because we are not merely a facility, we are part of a winning team."
