Local, international digital content partnership for eBooks

Yudu, an international digital publisher, has recently partnered with Eish Digital, a South African publisher of local online content. Although South Africa is currently lagging behind international trends in digital books, with only a few well-known brands such as the Kindle hitting the mark, Yudu believes that the South African and African markets have potential.

"Having been in the digital space for almost ten years now, we are very excited to be bringing our multiplatform publishing solution to Africa," explains Richard Stephenson, CEO of Yudu. "Access to local knowledge when it comes to the way the South African and African markets work is invaluable, and we look forward to expanding our global footprint while continuing to be at the forefront of the eBook revolution."

Publishers, authors and organisations who need to create the right impression and move into this relatively untapped market will now be able to get all of their publications onto the iPad, Android, Smartphones, Kindle and internet within days, inside their own branded apps. While many believe that digital publishing is only for books and magazines, Eish has found that corporates and retailers are beginning to comprehend the power of e-reading.

"With over 1200 publications created each day, in 76 countries around the world, Yudu has shown how easy it is to adopt this publishing process. Corporates can now easily distribute both internal and external communications, retailers can create digital catalogues for web, mobile and tablet distribution, authors who want to circumvent the traditional publishing route and publishers who wish to convert illustrated books into multiple digital formats, can now skip the most resource-intensive steps to access their readers," says Alan de Sousa Caires, CEO of Eish Digital.
