It is expected that creatives and representatives of the advertising, marketing and media industry will flock to Cape Town in large numbers to attend this week-long creative bonanza.

"All stops will therefore be out to ensure that the Cape Town debut is an unforgettable occasion that will rock Cape Town to its core," says Pendoring GM, Franette Klerck.

"Pendoring has concluded partnerships with both a Cape Town hotel and car rental company. Full details are available on the website under the heading 'gala evening'." As its air travel partner, kulula.com will offer added benefits such as dedicated check-in counters with visible Pendoring signage at OR Tambo International Airport and Cape Town International Airport. An extra piece of baggage of 20 kg per passenger will be allowed at these airports, as well as at Lanseria International Airport.

To qualify for these added benefits, booking requests must be emailed to moc.aluluk@etaroproc.selas under the reference/subject heading Pendoring. The deal is only valid for reservations from OR Tambo International Airport/Lanseria International Airport to Cape Town on 20 September and 21 September and return flights from Cape Town to Johannesburg between 22 September and 24 September.

Hot entertainment

Besides rewarding the cream of the Afrikaans and South African advertising crop at the gala event, popular performers and groups like Afrikaaps, Bittereinder, Jack Parow, Sterling EQ and Tumi Molekane will provide entertainment on the evening.

Elma Smit, 5FM DJ and MK presenter, along with TV personality and presenter Soli Philander, will act as MCs for the event. Guests will once again be treated to welcoming drinks, a five-star meal and goodie bags, sponsored by eNuus, filled with gifts from Pendoring sponsors and partners. Once again, the after party at The Assembly will be sponsored by MK.

"In line with this year's campaign theme, Vat Oor, the awards evening will also have a number of highly entertaining surprises that should go down well with the audience and which they will remember for years to come. Briefly, not only must Cape Town remember this awards evening as a premier showcase of excellent Afrikaans and truly South African advertising, but also for its superb entertainment," Klerck concludes.

The Pendoring Awards are followed by the two Loerie Awards evenings on Saturday and Sunday, 22 and 23 September.
