Baobab Awards open for nominations

The 2010 Baobab Award is now open to advertising, media and public relations agencies for entries and closes on 14 February 2010. The award celebrates and rewards effective and successful client-agency relationships, as well as organic growth and sustainability through certificates to the winner in each category with the overall winner winning the trophy.

Requirements

The award is presented to an agency, which can show the greatest ability in this respect, as measured by the range of indicators given below. The indicators are all weighted according to their importance in measuring client-agency relationships, and evaluated relative to agency size and lifespan.

  • Longevity of relationships (30% of total score);
  • Revenue growth rate, averaged over three years (10%);
  • Billings value of account wins and losses, averaged over three years (10%);
  • Success rate at pitches (10%);
  • Additional business won from existing clients (20%)
  • Rationale from the agency, with client endorsement (20%)

Agencies must also submit a 500-word rationale explaining why they merit the award, outlining examples of trust in the agency by clients.

"The Independent Agency Search and Selection Company (IAS) is committed to showing its support for the industry. The award, which we co-founded with Tony Koenderman's Ad Review, is our way of giving back to the industry and ensuring all agencies in various disciplines have an opportunity to showcase their achievements in creating and sustaining business," says IAS MD, Johanna McDowell.
