After founding Lowe Bull in 1996 and becoming CEO of Lowe's flagship office in London in 2003, Bull returned to his native South Africa in 2006 to resume day-to-day control of his agency while retaining his position as Lowe's worldwide creative director.

"It's clearly an honour to be chosen as the Jury President - radio is one of the oldest advertising mediums around but this year the jury and I will certainly be hoping it's one of the freshest," said Bull on his role as Radio Lions jury president.

Akira Kagami, Dentsu's executive officer and global executive creative director will lead the 2009 Cannes Lions Outdoor Jury, the festival's first ever jury president from Japan. With a career at Dentsu spanning 30 years, Kagami has acquired a vast and varied knowledge of advertising and communications and has worked on every type of brand possible. He is currently focusing on strengthening Dentsu's creative network and client work in Asia.

"Outdoor isn't outdated. It is a category with lots of room for fresh thinking. I truly look forward to seeing many great ideas," Akira Kagami.

Terry Savage, Festival Chairman, commenting on these appointments said, "Akira Kagami does us great honour in being the first Japanese President ever appointed to head a Cannes Jury. His vast experience and leadership skills make him ideally suited for this important role. Likewise Matthew has proven himself on a global scale as an outstanding leader and award winning creative and will bring to the Radio jury his unique insights. We are indeed privileged to have Presidents of this stature for Outdoor and Radio."
