Hosted by the International Marketing Council (IMC) of South Africa, the We Blog the World South Africa - Blogging South Africa Tour 2008 - is currently underway. As SA blogger Matthew Buckland writes, “the idea [is] to show some key US bloggers what our country is made of: the good, the bad and the complex.”

If we're talking complex, what happened to me is complex! Take a look at my page: www.saconference.co.za/profile/derickporembabrumer Posted on 3 Dec 2008 17:58
I went to the US blogger meet up in Cape Town and was very disappointed...
Firstly, the US bloggers were over an hour late. Secondly, one of the bloggers spoke for roughly 5 minutes but we couldn't hear a word he said as he was trying to speak over loud background music. And thirdly, no one gave any presentations, us South Africans had to mingle with the US bloggers, we were probably 5 to 1 so everyone was jostling to get a word in.
By this time it was past 10pm on a Sunday evening...
All in all it wasn't very professional, if I can give any suggestions it would be to stay away from a Sunday as many people (who I invited) couldn't make it, who knows who else didn't make it... The turn out will be much better if it were on a workday in a quieter location. Posted on 10 Dec 2008 08:24
