Fashion forward

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Joburg kicks off today, so it's only fitting that we should bring you a fashionably fabulous newsletter this Thursday. Those genetically blessed, leggy beings who will be strutting the ramps have been announced and I interview Adrian Lazarus, founder of the Mercedes-Benz Bokeh South African International Fashion Film Festival, which takes place later this month.

Keeping on a fashion trend, Terry Levin finds a common thread of African fashion and identity in talks at Design Indaba 2015, while Jessica Taylor reports back on Li Edelkoort Design Indaba presentation; Vanities - The Mythology of Self.

In other news, the nominees for the SAFTAs have been released and the winners of the SANCTA's 34th AGM and 10th Annual Full-Length Plays Awards have been announced.

New competitions this week see you a stand the chance to win two tickets to Splashy Fen in KZN, the next Kirstenbosch Summer Concert featuring Shortstraw and Connell Cruise's 'Into the wild' show at the Barnyard Theatre!
