Fare thee wells

As the curtain begins to close on 2012 we bring you the second last lifestyle newsletter of the year, but no worries we will be back early next year. That's if we don't all go the way of the Mayans on the 21st, here's hoping 'cause 2013 already looks to be a smashing year for entertainment.

Just in time for the festive season, Nina Timm shares her boozy and breezy fruit cake recipe, and Kershin Padayachee has a head-spinning time at the Cape Town Festival of Beer.

Henrie Geyser reviews the recently unwrapped 2013 Honda CR-V, and Sindy Peters spends a night at the charming La Grenadine Petit Hotel, a perfect home away from home away for visiting holiday-ers.

International DJ Seth Troxler will be manning the decks at Assembly on 16 December, while Pete Tong plays a once-off set on 4 January at The Reserve in Cape Town. In other music news, I interview fresh new duo, MiNNAAR about their recent EP release Volcano, and Justin Williams feels the thunder from Steve Aoki.

Dance expert Debbie Hathway reports back on the Cape Dance Company's exceptional production of Grace, and Daniel Dercksen reviews the cerebral fulfilling play, The View.

Prizes up for grabs this week include two tickets to Prime Circle at the Old Mutual Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert and the Resident Advisor party in Cape Town.

Have a super and safe holiday, see you in lucky 2013!

A many splendoured thing
[Debbie Hathway] The Cape Dance Company's recent season premiere of Grace at the Artscape Theatre, Cape Town, attracted an interesting mix of dance aficionados, established fans and media as well as those uninitiated to the world of contemporary and neo-classical dance.
