
It's still the beginning of the year, so there's the usual restructuring,
retrenching,
discontinued magazines and
new appointments,
launches,
milestones and
journ awards. And the
SABC circus continues - need I say more? - and
Cell C continues to court active dislike, thanks to its talking magazine ads - need I say more?
More importantly, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) of South Africa is calling for public submissions for changes to the
Code of Advertising Practice (deadline: 28 February 2011) and the Marketing Association of South Africa [MA(SA)] is urgently calling for comments and suggestions on the proposed regulations issued by the Department of Trade & Industry to
control all promotional competitions, as part of the Consumer Protection Act (
deadline: tomorrow, Tuesday 25 January).
The countdown to this year's
Design Indaba Conference and Exhibition stands at just a month away, so if you've not bought tickets, you'd better make a plan to do so fast!
