Ami Kapilevich has been appointed as editor of South Africa's foremost 4x4 lifestyle magazine, Drive Out.

The editorial reins have been handed over to Kapilevich, currently the magazine's managing editor, with immediate effect and his first issue as editor will be on the shelves in October. Kapilevich will work closely with former editor Andrew Nunneley, who remains on board as publisher.

Kapilevich brings a wealth of experience to his new position having worked as editor of Xplore and BMW Freedom, magazines published by New Media Publishing for Mitsuibshi Motors and BMW respectively. Kapilevich has also edited two editions of Front Cover, judged the best magazine in the Annuals, Directories, Product Guides and Supplements section at the 2005 Sappi Pica Awards.

Initially published solely as a trail guide, Drive Out has evolved over the past six years into a 144-page outdoor lifestyle publication. The winter issue of Drive Out magazine is available in stores countrywide.
