Mango was last week recognised by the Airports Company of South Africa's annual Feather Awards in 3 of the 4 airports the carrier uses. It's OR Tambo International and Cape Town International airport operations were awarded for service excellence while in Bloemfontein the airline received accolades for its ground handling. In Durban Mango was a runner-up to a competitor.

As Rezidor Hotels prepared to open newly built Park Inn-brand hotels in Gauteng they withdrew their brand from their Green Market Square, Cape Town location because, according to a previous Rezidor executive, the owner wasn't willing to spend what would be required to bring it up to Park Inn's upgraded code.

The Western Cape provincial government intends to broadcast CCTV footage of people dying or maimed in car crashes to raise road safety awareness during the festive season. The campaign, "Crash Witness", was launched by MEC for transport Robin Carlisle earlier this week.
