International Hotel School awards R210,000 bursary

Eighteen-year-old Rossouw Koen, a matric student at Swartland High School, Malmesbury, has been awarded the International Hotel School (IHS) "Ticket to Life" Bursary in Professional Cookery, valued at R210,000, after he won the Western Cape Finals of the annual competition at The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel recently.

Sanral asks court to keep Cape N1 tolls secret

The South African National Roads Agency Ltd (Sanral) will ask the Western Cape High Court next week to grant it a secrecy application, which will allow it keep details of the proposed tolling of the N1 and N2 highways confidential.

Probably the worst thing after a missing a flight is catching one of those dreaded 6am flights from Cape Town to Jozi or Durbs. Not only does it mean you have to at least be at the airport by 5:20am (if you checked in online), but if you live as far as Fish Hoek or Brackenfell, you have to get up at like 3:30am.
