The much-anticipated launch of Namibia's second mobile operator, Cell One, took place on Friday, 16 March 2007, with the opening of several shops in Windhoek. Cell One, which was granted a licence by the Namibian Communications Commission early last year, will be competing with cellphone operator MTC and Telecom's Switch service. "The company is working towards connecting most Namibians by the end of 2007," says Chief Executive Officer Mac Allman.
