TV In brief South Africa

SAARF TAMS Information Days this November

Over the past 10 years, the South African Advertising Research Foundation has made enormous progress in the way it measures TV audiences. However, it has become abundantly clear that current and future challenges will require new and inventive ways of measurement to ensure that the currency for the buying and selling of TV airtime reflects the real world. SAARF will focus on various future challenges in TV measurement - digital terrestrial television (DTT), high definition TV (HDTV), return path measurement and PVR viewership - at its free SAARF TAMS Information Days, 18 - 20 November 2008, in Joburg, Durban and Cape Town. Additionally, it will also look at the status of the current TAMS panel and at some of the recent changes in the panel ie inclusion of kids 4+. The team will be lead by SAARF's CEO, Dr Paul Haupt and he will be accompanied by Chris Eyre, executive director of AGB Nielsen Media Research. Email saarf@saarf.co.za or phone +27 (0)11 463 5340 to RSVP.
