The strange culture of business marketing... - Mon, 28 Jul 2014Chemory Gunko reckons South Africa has a strange culture when it comes to business marketing where many marketing people placed in companies are juniors, if they even exist at all - or the role is just not taken seriously at all by anyone internally. She gives advice on what you should be looking for in today's digital age and what skillsets an effective marketing person in your organisation should have.

I once again attended the Habari Media Tuongee this year which was themed Back to the Future - focussing on the past, present and future of digital. One of the presentations also touched on creativity and innovation and Habari Media's Byron John gave practical advice on how to get out of that non-creative rut.

In other news, entries are now open for the PromaxBDA Africa Awards which brings together creatives to explore thought-leadership, technology and the latest developments in the media marketing sector, and the nominees for The Future Africa Awards 2014 have been announced - congratulations to all!

Last but not least, we are almost celebrating our 100th episode of our Biz Takeouts show! If you missed episode 99, listen to the podcast which is now available.

That's all from me! Have a great week!

Cheers!
