New services website offers 6000 providers

A sister website to the national online directory service, Assist 247 was launched yesterday, 29 July 2013. Known as Services4Africa, it offers all the information provided by Assist 247 (which includes the details of hundreds of certified service providers) but arranged in a way that makes searching much simpler.

It takes the improved internet coverage and smart phone technology into account. "We believed we needed to design a more modern website, that would provide the same amount of useful information as Assist 247, while simplifying the search process," says Paul Meyer, CEO of Assist 247.

The website has a sleek design and, as developer Rob Lambert points out, is was created with mobile users in mind. "The new site is extremely fast and built to download quickly with easy search categories that make finding the service provider you need that much more convenient." The emphasis is on speed and accuracy; meaning that a user can find a qualified mechanic, in a specific area, with references in a matter of seconds.

"We only allow accredited service providers to advertise on Services4Africa, which is good news for both the public and the providers, as visitors know that any business they find listed on the website will know their trade. It's proven to be very effective with around 200,000 visits per month," says Meyer.

The Assist 247 website will remain online, with the Services4Africa website eventually being expanded to include similar sites internationally as well. Soon South Africans travelling abroad will have the contact details for registered paramedics, mechanics, plumbers and more at their fingertips - regardless of where in the world they may be.
