Interactive TV gets even easier with DStv Touch

DStv has made its extensive range of interactive services even easier to access at the touch of a button, with the launch of new DStv Touch.

DStv Touch groups all the interactive services together in a pop-up overlay on the screen, activated by pressing the OK button. This enables viewers to have immediate access to the bouquet of Interactive services no matter what channel they are viewing, without having to go to the interactive section of the DStv guide.

In addition to including the constant interactive service selection, such as sport, mobile fun, games, weather, local news, astrology, and TV-Mail, the pop-up interactive menu will also feature a 'Live Now!' option that will take you straight into content relevant interactive services.

"It's all about choice, involvement and interactivity," says Richard Fyffe, MultiChoice's head of iTV. "People want to be more involved with what they see on TV. Television's role is changing, and so is the place it occupies in people's lives. Our viewers have also changed, and are now evolving with us, which in itself is a very interesting dynamic."

"Our interactive services are cutting edge, and we aim to have the enhanced viewing experience available on larger portions of the bouquet. Because certain interactive services that enhance viewing are tailored to particular programmes, the DStv Touch service will make them easy to access at the time the programme airs. It also provides a direct path to our popular interactive services that are constantly on-air, making them more accessible to subscribers who are less familiar with the options available."
