And if that weren't enough, there are also issues around the SABC's handling of Afrikaans programming and the board chair's alleged lie over her qualifications.

• TV with Thinus: BEMAWU declares dispute over Motsoeneng appointment... The biggest media trade union, Bemawu, has declared a dispute at the CCMA over the SABC's controversial permanent appointment of matricless Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
  
• Politics Web: COSATU alarmed at latest SABC allegations... Spokesperson for COSATU, Patrick Craven, says the Congress of South African Trade Unions is deeply concerned at the allegation, reported in the City Press on 13 July 2014, that the SABC board chairperson, Zandile Ellen Tshabalala, lied to Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Communications by fabricating her CV to say that she holds a degree and a senior diploma from UNISA.

  The university has reportedly denied Tshabalala's claim.

• The Media Online: Union declares dispute with SABC over Motsoeneng appointment... The Media Workers Association of South Africa (Mwasa) has told the SABC it has declared a dispute over the appointment of Hlaudi Motsoeneng as chief operations officer (COO) of the broadcaster.
  Then of course, there is the issue of the SABC's moves around Afrikaans programming... The corporation claims changes to the schedule have nothing to do with Afrikaans, but according to Sowetan LIVE, the FF-Plus says the SABC's decision to move Afrikaans programmes from SABC2 to SABC3 is illegal. Meanwhile, TV with Thinus has accused the corporation of lying about the issue.
