The judges are recognised as senior PR practitioners in either, government, corporate affairs or consultancy and are all members of IPRA. A total of 30 countries will be represented within the panel.

Countries represented on the judging panel this year are: Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Rep, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, USA.

Competence in five areas

Each GWA entry is assessed on the basis of its competence in five areas - a statement of the issue; research; planning; execution and evaluation.

The judging takes place in two parts - a remote stage and a physical round. The remote stage is currently in progress and will result in the finalists being asked to submit further evidence to support their entries. This stage is expected to be completed by the end of May.

The final judging will be held on Friday, 26 June 2009, in Warsaw, Poland. The awards will be presented to the winners during an International Gala on the 30th of October 2009 in London, England.
