Cape Town Flower Show announces media partners

The Cape Town Flower Show company has announced that Kfm 94.5 and Conde Nast House and Garden will be its media partners for the event which takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in September this year.

Billed as the largest flower show ever in the Southern Hemisphere, the Cape Town Flower Show runs from Thursday September 11 until Sunday September 14. Event organisers aim to attract over 50 000 visitors to the event.

The media partnerships were negotiated to ensure guaranteed coverage during the build up to the show and over the four days of the show.

Conde Nast House and Garden and Kfm 94.5 will work with Splash PR in order to get maximum exposure for the show. They will also publicise side events linked to the show including the Arabella Sheraton Floral Ball, a series of garden tours in the Western Cape, and a programme of talks and demonstrations to be held in "The Hot House" a venue adjacent to the main hall.

Cape Town Flower Show sponsorship manager, Paul Jackson, said the media partnerships would add value to the event by ensuring widespread radio and print coverage and directly impacting on foot traffic to the show.

"Conde Nast has published an informative double page spread on the Cape Town Flower Show in their July issue featuring confirmed exhibitors and including comment from respected, local horticultural figures and international visitors to the Kirstenbosch/South Africa stand at the Chelsea Flower Show," said Jackson.

Further editorial has been negotiated for the August edition, while the September edition will be packaged with a 16-page supplement on the Cape Town Flower Show.

Adult contemporary radio station, Kfm 94.5 firmly established as having the greatest listenership among the Western Cape's regional stations with a cumulative weekly audience of 1011 000 listeners, were selected to be the radio partner for the show.

"Kfm 94.5 has a proven track record in the successful promotion of consumer events of this caliber - having worked as media partners with Decorex, and have therefore secured presentation rights to the event," said Jackson. "The media partnership will ensure a high frequency generic advertising campaign devoted to the event and live crossings from the event."

Through its association with the Cape Town Flower Show, Kfm 94.5 will explore the possibility of using landscape art, flowers and all things naturally green to project the Kfm 94.5 logo.
