This year's Green Pencil Award, which recognises outstanding work that is environmentally friendly or smart, was presented by leading eco-lifestyle expert Danny Seo, to the Berghs School of Communication and Stockholm University in Sweden (@berghs). This was the first time student work has been recognised with a Green Pencil.

The students were recognised for their outstanding creative concept for MillionTreesNYC, a program with a goal to plant and care for one million trees across New York City's five boroughs over the next decade.

Best of Show

Best of Show was presented to BBH/London for the Johnnie Walker short film, "The Man Who Walked Around the World." This six-minute film was shot in one continuous take and stars Scottish actor Robert Carlyle.

Proctor & Gamble was named Client of the Year for pushing the boundaries of creativity and taking risks with work including Old Spice "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like" and "Zack Johnson" for Tampax.

Winners and finalists will be featured in the commemorative One Show Annual, which will be released later this year.

More than 600 advertising professional and guests celebrated the winners at the gala event produced by The One Club, a non-profit organisation dedicated to recognising excellence in advertising and design. Celebrities and VIPs from the world of advertising, film, television and media were on-hand to present the awards, including Ben McKenzie, Carol Alt, Nigel Barker, Paige Davis, Jerry Della Femina, Mary Knight, Roxy Olin, Kevin Roddy (BBH), Jimmy Smith (TBWA) and Mary Warlick (CEO, The One Club).

James Lipton was also on-hand to accept a Silver Pencil for the LG campaign, "Give it a Ponder," in which he is featured. The work was created by Y&R in New York.

"Global nature of today's creativity"

"This year's One Show winners truly reflect the global nature of today's creativity," said Mary Warlick, CEO of The One Club. "Advertising is now shared and viewed all around the world, and the work that was awarded tonight showcased brilliant marketing solutions that transcended borders."

The 35th annual One Show was the centrepiece of Creative Week NYC taking place in New York City 10-16 May. Creative Week is a celebration of creativity in advertising, design, digital media and the arts. The One Club and the Creative Week Board of Advisors invite all organisations involved in the creative life of New York City.
