Buses, taxis and trucks checked in police blitz
According to the Allafrica.com news service, almost 100 000 buses, taxis and trucks have been checked across the country over the past week, as part of the December holiday traffic law enforcement operations. Between 14 and 20 November, 98563 public transport and freight vehicles and drivers were stopped and screened and 20613 fines for various offences were issued, 9815 of these were issued in Gauteng.
