Cape Town Creative week has given us a bumper week of winners in the advertising, marketing and media industries with
The Loeries 2012 winners and the
2012 Pendoring winners.
Our congratulations to all the winners and to those who took part.
Still on Creative Week, our 38th [Biz Takeouts Podcast] focuses on
Creative Week Cape Town. Find out more about Creative Cape Town, the Creative Week Cape Town initiative and what is going to happen in Cape Town for the 2014 Design Capital by listening to last week's podcast of the Biz Takeouts Marketing & Media radio show, which airs every Thursday 5pm-6pm streamed live via 2oceansVibe Radio.
On the TV front,
the digital transition is set to revolutionise broadcasting, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC) South African entertainment and media outlook 2012-16 (
The Outlook). The study shows that digital spending will increase at an approximate 21% compound annual growth rate during the next five years, compared with the 6.5% compound annual growth for the non-digital components of the market.
Finally, if you're a cricket fan and you don't happen to subscribe to SuperSport, you'll be missing out on the T20. Why? Because
the SABC went out for a duck when it and the rights holders, Supersport, were unable to reach an agreement and the SABC kept the cricket off free-to-air screens.
