Well, this is our last newsletter for 2011, but we will be back with our first newsletter for 2012 on 10 January. In the meantime we will continue to update the site, but at a lower rate since a great many of you, being far cleverer than us, will be relaxing on holiday or at home with friends and family, and work will be the last thing on your mind.

Kaspersky Lab, a developer of secure content and threat management solutions, recently announced that Eugene Kaspersky, the company's chairman and CEO, and Nancy Reynolds, senior vice president of corporate sales in the Americas, were both included on the Top 100 Executives in the Channel by CRN. 
More than 10-billion applications made for Google's Android platform have been downloaded says a report on News24. It refers to statistics compiled by Google that Android applications are now being downloaded at the rate of about one billion a month. 
Vasily Dyagilev has been appointed MD of Emerging Markets at Kaspersky Lab while Garry Kondakov is set to take over as the company's chief sales and marketing officer (CSMO). The changes will also affect the regional division structure since a separate business unit will be set up to manage the company's activities in Russia and the countries of Central Asia and trans-Caucasia.
