[2013 trends] The year we stop living to work, start working to live

[Greg Schneider] Increasingly, people are valuing intangibles benefits of a job over the bottom-line salary. 2013 will be the year where recruitment and talent retention are governed by the environment and not simply the pay check.

Greg Schneider commented on Social recruitment - what I've learned so far
Thanks for your very well-articulated reply.

While I agree referral recruitment is not a new concept, I do think formalizing the process through the use of a platform which equally represents both parties will significantly change its effectiveness.

Through Hiring Bounty the community has a platform that is dedicated to keeping them updated on the jobs on offer. Rather than hope an individual sees a tweet or remembers to send through a friend’s contact details, the site streamlines the process of referring. This process will be made even simpler as we move out of beta and launch additional features.

A platform also extends the network from which you can draw a referral. Even the best recruiter has a limited database and emailing everybody in that database for a referral is just another unnecessary interruption. As Hiring Bounty grows in popularity we are able to access the personal networks of an even wider group of people. This network is better informed of people’s career aspirations and is constantly up dating with movement in the industry, newly acquired skills and up to date contact details.

Jobs will continue to become more niche in their focus and as such referred candidates from people within the industry becomes the obvious source of quality candidates.

Again thanks for challenging our learnings.
