Ronell Buitenbos has been appointed advertisement sales director of Independent Newspapers, Gauteng, effective 1st April 2003.
Making the announcement, Nazeem Howa, executive director: operations for the company, said, ”Following the promotion of Andrew Cuthbertson to group sales director at The inc, Ronell will assume control of the advertising sales department in Independent Newspapers, Gauteng. Working together with Andrew, she has revitalized the advertising sales function of our Gauteng division during her brief 10-month tenure here. Her hands-on and focused approach quickly gained the respect of the traditionally tough sales team in the advertising department, making her a natural choice for the job. She will report directly to me.”
Buitenbos has 15 years’ experience in advertising sales and was sales director at Primedia Publishing prior to joining Independent Newspapers in 2002. Howa said her remit would be to meet the tough sales targets set for the 2003 financial year, while continuing to build on the existing strengths of the advertising sales team.
