In development for close on 10 years, Collison's White Gold is an ultra-luxury potstilled product that straddles the divide between white and brown spirits. It comes dressed to play in the fast-growing cocktail territory, presented in a partially frosted bottle with a tanzanite-tinted base and sophisticated silver seal. While the look was developed locally, the bottle was sourced in France and the capsule in Spain. Says brand development manager Michelle van Schalkwyk, “There is nothing close to it on either the local or global market.” This new-style brandy launches in June 2007 in selected style bars, deluxe taverns and chic eateries.
