Themed 'A Cut Above', the Unilever Food Solutions Chef of the Year mystery basket national finals held on 8 September in Durban, saw participants in the junior and senior categories create recipes using Unilever Food Solutions products for a starter, main and dessert course.
MasterChef Australia judge, chef Gary Mehigan recently joined The Table Bay Hotel's executive chef, chef Jocelyn Myers-Adams and a few members of the media on a foraging expedition. Venturing as far as Mouille Point, the foragers found a selection of indigenous plants abundant and ready to be eaten - from sour fig to "sout slaai" (salt salad).
Friday 19th August saw the Cape Town leg of the global Jack Daniel's Barrel Hunt take place, the brand's first ever global scavenger hunt. 150 handcrafted barrels have been hidden at historic and cultural sites across the world to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Jack Daniel Distillery.
