August is #WomensMonth and #LoeriesMonth on Biz! - 1 Aug 2016

By Leigh Andrews

August is #WomensMonth and #LoeriesMonth on Biz! - Mon, 01 Aug 2016The week begins with a review of the May and June 2016 winners of the Creative Circle Awards. Well done to all, for continuously producing work that inspires and reinvents the industry's thinking!

Speaking of creative inspiration, it's #LoeriesMonth at last! As a result, I went #BehindtheSelfie with Loeries committee member and ECD of Sw!tch, Gaby de Abreu, Brand Council South Africa (BCSA). He lets us in on his football-playing past and his love of the industry's diversity and buzz.

Thabiso Moloi looks into the current industry buzz of whether social influencers should get paid for the work they produce on behalf of brands, and Beverley Klein rounds out our #MandelaMonth content from July with an overview of how underwear brand, Jockey, has partnered with Texcon Hawkers Forum and Business Support KwaZulu Natal, to make street vendors' dreams come true.

Klein also kicks off our #WomensMonth coverage in an interview with Newsmaker Tazleen January, recently appointed as knowledge manager at the South African Cultural Observatory (SACO).

Keep an eye on the site as we focus on females in business this month, as well all aspects of businesses 'doing well by doing good' in our CSI Special Focus, curated by Louise Marsland.

Go forth and be creative!
