My head in Cloud Atlas
[Charles Siboto] I went to go see Cloud Atlas last week and I'm still uncertain of what I saw, but it moved me like no other movie has since last year's Super 8 - and Lucky Number Slevin (2006) before that. Cloud Atlas is not really a movie in the conventional sense of the word. 20 Nov 2012 10:52

Why Gangnam Style is the biggest news, brand story of 2012
[Lebogang Mukansi] Through his recent success, 34-year-old, Korean K-pop superstar Psy, has had the president of the United States joke about being able to do his silly horse dance, got him photographed with Ban Ki-moon, and featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, teaching Britney Spears and mums across America his Gangnam Style dance. The motor plan, salvation or hi-tech con?
[Roger Metcalfe] The motoring world has changed profoundly over the last 25 years. OK, I confess to being trained in the old school where I maintained my own cars and when necessary rebuilt engines and gearboxes and anything else that needed repair such as alternators, starter motors, windscreen wiper motors, CV joints, bearings etc. During these years I held the power in my hands! 19 Nov 2012 09:26

Sail into the sunset at La Pirogue
[Rod Baker] La Pirogue, named for the traditional Mauritian twin-sailed fishing boat, bills itself as the most authentic Mauritian resort. Its individual chalets are also modelled on the traditional Mauritian thatched house. What it also has is seemingly acres of rolling lawns, and the tranquillity of a Trappist monastery. 19 Nov 2012 05:03
Breaking a yawn!
[Daniel Dercksen] If there's one highlight on the big screen this year (and a sigh of relief), it's that the never-ending Twilight saga comes to final conclusion with the lifeless and dull The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part 2). What started out as an amusing saga fizzles into thin air. 16 Nov 2012 09:52
Abalone House, you'll hardly want to leave
[Brian Berkman: contributing editor, travel] With its white-washed houses and ubiquitous blue shutters, Paternoster fancies itself part of the Greek Isles. Don't hold this against this charming West Coast seaside village as it punches way about its weight in the restaurants worth eating at and interesting shops at which to spend your money stakes. 16 Nov 2012 09:00
