The 7th annual MTN Bushfire Festival is to take place from 31 May to 2 June, 2013, in the Malkers Valley, Swaziland. The three-day music and arts festival donates 100% of its profits to charity. This year's line-up, to be announced soon, will once again reflect the best talent the continent has to offer.

South African-born rock band Civil Twilight will be returning from Nashville, Tennessee for a national tour of their latest album, "Holy Weather", playing in Joburg on 20 December, Durban on 22 December and Cape Town on 28 December, 2012.

I went to go see Cloud Atlas last week and I'm still uncertain of what I saw, but it moved me like no other movie has since last year's Super 8 - and Lucky Number Slevin (2006) before that. Cloud Atlas is not really a movie in the conventional sense of the word.

Metallica are to perform two shows in South Africa next year, on Wednesday, 24 April at the Cape Town Stadium and Saturday, 27 April, 2013 at the Soccer City Complex, FNB Stadium, Joburg. The band have sold 110 million albums worldwide and played to millions of fans the world over.

The motoring world has changed profoundly over the last 25 years. The fourth annual Cape Town Carnival is to be held on Saturday, 16 March, 2013, at the Fan Walk, Somerset Road, Green Point, and will feature colourful costumes, fun, vibrancy, dance, floats and music. Be super creative this weekend and escape into film, theatre and exciting home entertainment! There are some great films now showing. It is magical films like The Odd Life of Timothy Green that remind us why we go to the movies. If there is one film that is going to change the way that you see filmmaking, visual storytelling and the human condition, in the same way Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life did, it's Cloud Atlas, an epic sci-fi drama, that is every bit as much of a head trip.
