Heidelberg press improves print capability at Remata

"The press allows for printing on a wider range of paper stock thicknesses and new capabilities such as printing on packaging which we plan to employ in various industries, including the pharmaceutical industry," says Esmé Bense, director at Remata. The press will operate in conjunction with Prinect Image Control software, which controls image colour, ensures that the press meets ISO colour standards and keeps image quality consistent throughout the print run on all presses.

Four years ago, the company planned for the expanded production capacity by installing floors capable of handling the 32-ton weight of the Heidelberg at its Midrand premises. "We have the right facilities here sandwiched between the two cities and we have the benefit of rapid access to the highways which means unimpeded deliveries," concludes Bense.

The new Heidelberg operators have up to 25 years' experience, both locally and abroad and required only one week in June to familiarise themselves with the new press before they were producing
