Having paid her dues, Martha Stewart is back on the world map, and in a first for South African television, she's coming to The Home Channel on 5 May 2006, with a series of "From Martha's Garden".
The show will be on Saturdays at 8am and 4pm and Sundays at 11am and 7pm on The Home Channel, DStv channel 55.
Stewart inherited her passion for gardening from her father, who passed on all his knowledge to her as they worked together in the family's backyard from the time she was four. In this 30-minute show, Martha offers invaluable tips and techniques for gardening aficionados, from gardens, landscaping, seeds and bulbs to flowers, trees, spring planting and winterising shrubs.
This super-successful business woman, domestic diva and show host has won numerous awards for her work. In 1998, Fortune magazine named her as one of the "50 Most Powerful Women" in 1998. In 1996, she was selected by Time Magazine as one of "America's 25 Most Influential People". Martha Stewart has earned two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Service Show Host in 1995 and 1997, and an Emmy for Outstanding Service Show in 1999. Her company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, went public in 2000 and she is the majority shareholder.
