"Having our TV shows licensed to Sky Sports in the U.K. was a milestone for our production house," comments Gareth George, the Executive Producer of the series. "It’s testament to the quality of the South African team that puts the programming together," he added.
The first WildFly shows aired in 2005, followed by Inside Angling a few years later, and after the success of their Hooked On series through Discovery and Fox Sports, they have successfully struck a global deal through sporting channels spanning four continents. "Our content is captivating viewing for the international traveller and showcases some of the greatest marine and fresh water wilderness destinations in Africa," says Brad Cartwright, who co-produces these entertaining programs. "And having our HD footage meet the major networks high standards was a wonderful affirmation of our productions teams talents," he maintains.
"Viewing patterns have certainly changed, with the merging of TV, your PC and mobile devices," Gareth affirms, "and that's why we complimented the broadcasting networks with our own interactive platform www.fishtube.tv which interfaces with a free smartphone app, giving us a unique touchpoint with our audience."
Their model is certainly meeting the demand for travellers and angling enthusiasts in need of their weekly fishing fix and having struck a three year deal to syndicate programs to lifestyle, travel and sporting channels, G&T Productions are setting the standard for South African production houses to follow.
