Ackerman's wife, Wendy, who has always played a defining role in the business, features side-by-side with her husband, as they talk about the adventures, battles, and historical moments they experienced as they built the retail giant from four stores in the Cape in 1967 to a massive business today of over 1000 stores and franchises in southern Africa.
