Moneyweb makes waves with new airtime partner

Hot on the heels of its announcement last week that it has moved its award winning business programme from Classic FM to Radio Today 1485AM, Moneyweb has signed up a new broadcast partner so that when the Moneyweb Business Show with Alec Hogg debuts on Radio Today this week, it will also be heard across Pretoria through 90.5FM.

Says Moneyweb chairman Alec Hogg: "When the switch from Classic FM was announced, we said our most pressing challenge was to find a suitable broadcast partner to cover the Pretoria area. I'm delighted that 90.5FM, "the heartbeat of Pretoria' has partnered with us."

Previously known as Radio Rippel which broadcasts in English and Afrikaans, the station is managed by well-known former SABC broadcasters Kobus Rudolph and Hennie Koortzen.

"90.5FM is a highly professional community station which has been on air for over nine years with a powerful signal that covers all of Pretoria and further," Hogg adds.

In addition, the new Moneyweb Business show is immediately accessible on Channel 70 in the DSTV audio bouquet through the Radio Today 1885AM partnership. From August 1, the new show is accessible on portable satellite radios throughout sub-Saharan Africa on the WorldSpace bouquet.

"Existing relationships with free-to-air broadcasters in Cape Town and Durban, coupled with our plans to provide web streaming in the near future, means the entire Moneyweb community will be covered for the first time," says Hogg.

Moneyweb is also working on expanding its footprint into Vereeniging and Plettenberg Bay.
