Aden Thomas new morning show host on CapeTalk

Freelance presenter Aden Thomas is replacing Mike Wills, whose two-year contract expires on 30 June 2006, as the morning show on 567mw CapeTalk from July, the station announced last week. According to station manager Colleen Louw, listener surveys have shown great excitement at his impending new role at the station.

Louw states the station had made a business decision to take the morning show in a new direction: "We believe Aden brings with him the necessary attributes to attract new listeners, help grow the morning show and reinforce our commitment to serving to the best of our ability the community in which we operate."

She also says that Wills, who had been instrumental in building CapeTalk into a top news and information station, would continue contributing to the station after his contract period had expired.

"Mike has played a pivotal role in the history of CapeTalk from its inception nine years ago. He was a founding member of the station and has been an integral part of the team which has made us the leading news and information station in Cape Town."

"We are sincerely grateful for his contribution and where possible, we'll continue to draw on his experience for special broadcasts and other initiatives. I would personally like to thank Mike for his dedication and commitment," concludes Louw.
